Fahkumram

Fahkumram is a Muay Thai fighter who once dominated the scene undefeated and was considered one of Thailand’s national heroes.

One fateful day, he disobeyed the order of corrupt Thailand military officers to lose a match on purpose, which resulted in the military taking him into custody as well as detaining his wife and daughter as hostages.
Since then, Fahkumram was forced to toil under the Thai military as their pawn. He was ordered to participate in The King of Iron Fist Tournament to crush the Mishima Zaibatsu.
However, news of the death of the tournament organizer, Heihachi Mishima, halted the tournament.
Following that, G Corporation, led by Kazuya Mishima, began tightening its grip on the world. And The King of Iron Fist Tournament was back on to determine the fate of the country.
Although Fahkumram had no doubts that he would be forced to enter this tournament too, the military oddly did not give him orders to do so.
The unsettling truth was that the Thai military leader, blinded with greed, formed a secret treaty with the Mishima Zaibatsu and had been accepting bribes. Under their supervision, Kuma was elected as the representative of the Southeast Asia/Oceania Block instead.
“As long as the flames of war burn fierce in this world, I will allow your wife and daughter to live. After all, the longer conflict drags on, the fatter my pockets become thanks to the Mishima Zaibatsu!”
Enraged after hearing about the selfish, vulgar plan, Fahkumram sets his resolve and proceeds down a path of no return to reclaim his sole purpose of living.
“If my wife and daughter can live to see another day, then I won’t waver to take another’s life. I will become an avatar of the great Garuda!”
Fahkumram somberly closes his eyes after being mounted into the military-developed breaching vehicle; Thailand’s ultimate weapon is en route to the battlefield.

 

Delivering powerful strikes from mid-range with even more refined Muay Thai techniques.

Fahkumram dominates his opponents with his massive frame, long reach, and heavy-hitting Muay Thai techniques.
His signature move—the devastating high kick Lashing Squall—makes a return in this title as one of his core attacks. On top of that, the addition of a new long-range low attack, Flash Channel, allows him to apply even more pressure from mid-range.
While his mobility and ability to counter under pressure are limited, his overwhelming power more than makes up for those shortcomings, making him a fearsome presence on the battlefield.

 

Activating his power-up state alters the way he fights

When certain attacks connect, Fahkumram enters a powered-up state called ‘Garuda Force’.
While in this state, he can consume the Garuda Force gauge to unlock new follow-up options for specific moves and gain access to powerful exclusive techniques. This transformation significantly changes his offensive approach.

Among these new tools, ‘Garuda Pressure’, a unique Power Crush move, stands out for helping to mitigate one of his biggest weaknesses—his lack of counterattack options.
Notably, during Heat, he is always in the Garuda Force state, allowing him to stay on the offensive with devastating attacks throughout.

 

Execute advanced techniques using special inputs and stances for a more nuanced fighting style.

For players who have gotten comfortable with his basic controls, Fahkumram offers even more depth through advanced inputs.
Some of his powerful techniques require slide inputs—where two buttons are pressed in quick succession—or hold inputs, where a button must be pressed and held. While these inputs can be tricky to master, the sense of control and impact they provide is unique to Fahkumram, setting him apart from other characters.

There’s also another key feature tied to the Garuda Force state: if the opponent blocks a hold input move, Fahkumram transitions into a special stance known as the ‘Rama Stance’.
Entering Rama Stance during a match takes skill and timing, but the exclusive moves available from this stance are incredibly powerful—strong enough to turn the tables on your opponent.

 

A design that highlights his physique while incorporating iconic elements of Thai culture

Fahkumram is one of the most physically imposing characters in the TEKKEN series, known for his massive and distinctive build.
In TEKKEN 8, we aimed to stay true to this identity by keeping the base from the previous title while refining the model to make his muscles appear even more powerful and defined. One of his most striking features is the glowing Lichtenberg scars etched across his body. Thanks to improved rendering technology, their texture and flickering effects are now presented with even greater visual impact.

As for his costume design, we leaned more heavily into Thai symbolism—especially the legendary Garuda, a divine bird often used as an emblem in Thailand. This influence is seen in the updated Mongkhon (headband), which now incorporates a Garuda motif, further emphasizing his identity as a Thai fighter.

Another highlight is the Sak Yant, a traditional Thai tattoo inscribed on his back. This tattoo was actually drawn by a respected Thai monk, adding a layer of authenticity and cultural significance to his design. It’s a meaningful detail that brings both Thai culture and the spirit of Muay Thai to life through the character.
